  • FAQ

How do I reserve my place?

This event took place on November 1, 2023 and has now concluded.

Where is New Profit’s 25th Anniversary Summit & Celebration taking place?

Both events are taking place on Guest Street in Boston’s Brighton neighborhood. The afternoon and evening venues are two blocks apart from each other.

Our afternoon Summit from 12-5pm will be at GBH at 1 Guest Street.

Our evening Celebration from 5:30pm to late night will be at Roadrunner at 89 Guest Street.

Do I need to come to both events?

While we’d love to have you attend both, we understand if you can only make one. Due to space restrictions, we would appreciate hearing from you if you can no longer attend part of the program. Email us at 25@newprofit.org.

    Can I bring a guest?

Unfortunately, no. Due to space restrictions this event is invitation-only and non-transferable. If you have any questions about your invitation, please email 25@newprofit.org.

I’m from out of town. Where should I stay?

If you are coming from out of town, we have a hotel room block reserved at the Park Plaza Hotel at a rate of $259/night (for November 1st, as well as for October 31 for those that need it due to distance traveling). If you are a leader of a New Profit portfolio organization or America Forward Coalition organization, a Proximity Fellow, or in our Emerging Leaders program, please email 25@newprofit.org with your room needs and we will book your room for you.

    Who’s attending?

Our afternoon Summit will gather approximately 350 social entrepreneurs, investors, thought leaders and other community members. Names of afternoon Summit participants will be added to this site periodically as they register. Our evening Celebration will get a little bigger, bringing our numbers to approximately 600 in celebration.

    What is the agenda?

Our current agenda can be found here and may change as more speakers are added.

Are there any norms for engagement?

To ensure we create brave spaces that invite each of us to bring our whole selves, we ask that all participants observe the following norms for engagement:

    • Make space for each person’s journey, expertise, and voice
    • Be kind, not “nice”— generous, not censoring; listen for the sense in what is being said
    • Be patient with yourself and others as different people process in different ways and at different speeds
    • Stay curious and stay in this; we all have “exit ramps” when things get hard or uncomfortable; don’t take them
    • Chatham House Rules: what’s said in this room can be shared outside this room (so that we can all build on these insights), but nothing will be attributed to any one person without their express permission

    How do I get there?

    • Shuttle bus: Shuttles for the afternoon Summit to GBH and for the evening celebration at Roadrunner from the Boston Park Plaza Hotel will be provided. Shuttles from Roadrunner to the Boston Park Plaza Hotel will be provided throughout the evening. Shuttle times, details and pick locations will be provided a week prior to the event along with arrival instructions.
    • Rideshare: The address for GBH dropoff/pick up is 1 Guest Street. The address for Roadrunner dropoff/pickup is located directly in front of Roadrunner’s front doors at 89 Guest Street
    • MBTA: You can access the venues from the nearby Commuter Rail: Brighton Landing Commuter Rail stop, or MBTA bus on routes 64 or 86.
    • Car: For those who attend the afternoon Summit, free parking is available next to GBH at the Guest Street Garage. Park in any space. Upon entering the garage, proceed to the gate and take a ticket. Bring your ticket with you for validation at the security desk One Guest Street when you check in to our event. Handicap dropoff for GBH is located in the driveway entrance to the GBH visitors lot. Coming down Guest Street from Market Street, this is the first driveway on the right. Designated handicap spaces are available in the GBH visitors lot behind One Guest Street. If this lot is full, please use the designated handicap spaces in the Guest Street garage.
    • Bike: There is covered bike parking in the Guest Street garage.

    What should I bring?

A curious mind, an open heart, dancing shoes, and a valid ID.
Both venues will have a coat check.

    What should I wear?

Whatever you’d like! Wear what makes you comfortable to engage authentically with others in discussion and celebration. This is a celebratory but NOT a black-tie/gown-type event.

Will there be food and drink?

Absolutely! There will be a variety of food and drink at both venues. You will need an ID to obtain alcoholic beverages.

Will there be any COVID restrictions in place?

As of right now, we are not requiring masks or proof of vaccination. We reserve the right to change that policy if there are new public health guidelines closer to the event. We certainly welcome those who prefer to wear a mask and ask that if you are feeling ill, please skip the event.

What is the travel reimbursement policy?

If you are a leader of a New Profit portfolio organization or America Forward Coalition organization, a Proximity Fellow, or a member of our Emerging Leaders program, some of your travel costs will be covered. Please read our reimbursement policy here.

If you are not part of the New Profit portfolio, but are interested in exploring support for travel and accommodation, we have a limited number of spaces available. Please email us at 25@newprofit.org to learn more.

I have another question I don’t see here.

If you need more information or require any accommodations to help you fully participate in our Summit and Celebration, please reach out to 25@newprofit.org and we will be happy to get you the answers you need about accessibility, menu, restrooms, transportation, prayer, nursing, and more.
